Videos

I was supposed to post these a while ago... according to my last post, it was supposed to be in "a few days." That was June 12th and today is June 25th... whoops. Well, better late than never! Here they are!

This first one is of Hunter screaming like a little girl (so sound is a MUST while watching this). Josh was shaking a plastic bag and Hunter started freaking out! It was hilarious...

This one is of Hunter talking to Josh. Every time Josh would say "mobile," he would just start babbling back at him. In fact, Hunter will still do the same thing when Josh says that word - so it wasn't a one time occurrence... maybe "mobile" means something different in baby language... hmmm...

This one is a little older... I mentioned that Hunter could make a clicking sound with his tongue in an earlier post... well, here's the proof! :)

Movement, Hands and Other Things...

I have a few updates on Mr. Hunter... Last Friday, he decided that rolling around everywhere was for "babies," so he decided to change his method of movement to army crawling! It is pretty cute and now he can get ANYWHERE he wants to go. We put a baby gate on top of the stairs on Wednesday, so that at least gives me peace of mind when I let him roam...

Yesterday, I was letting him crawl around while I was on the computer. I looked down to check on him and he was just sitting there! He had figured out how to go from his crawling position to the sitting position! He's been close to doing that for a while but he's finally figured it out!

I was playing with him yesterday and I noticed something... I don't know when this happened but his hands have transformed from "baby" hands to "toddler" hands. That's the best way I can describe it... like, his hands are "solid" and don't seem as "breakable." I hope other moms know what I'm talking about...

This morning, I was letting him crawl around in his room and he pulled on the knob of his dresser drawer and figured out how to open and close it! I'm sure this is the start of a new trend... yikes...

So, lots of updates for my curious little boy! I have a few videos to post, so I will do that within the next few days...

It Emerges...

Hunter's first tooth made an appearance this morning! We had thought that he had one coming in on the top because you can see a tiny white nubbin' up there, so we didn't really pay attention to the bottom of his mouth... and where does this first tooth appear? On the bottom! It's exciting but I feel so bad for him. He was pretty awnry this morning and now I know why...

I attempted to get a picture of it but that didn't really work out, since it just barely broke the surface of his gums today. So, as soon as it grows in all of the way, I will get a pic of it and post it. Well, I guess this ushers in the teething phase - which I hears lasts until they are like 3! Oh boy...

8 Months Old

Hunter turned 8 months old today! I look at how big he's gotten and just think, "how in the world did you fit in my belly?" He is definitely not my little baby anymore...

I've been meaning to post some of the things that he's been doing lately but haven't had the time. So, I'm going to put them all on one post! Scary, I know... but hey, it's MY blog, so get over it! JK... :P

*He finally has enough hair to sport a Mohawk! It's so adorable!

*Preferred mode of movement: Rolling. He rolls around like a champ now. He pivots, scoots and lunges to wherever he wants to go...

*Gets into crawling position and rocks back and forth. He is SO close to crawling, it's scary!

*Sits on his own and can play freely with both hands.

*Sleeps with his butt in the air. LOL!

*Dance move of choice: the pelvic thrust! For a few weeks, he kept doing this pelvic thrust thing when he would get excited. It was hilarious, but for some reason, he doesn't do it anymore. I got a video of it but I'm not going to post it because you can't really see what he's doing in it...

*He mimics me - I started clicking my tongue at him to get his attention while I was feeding him solids and it only took him a week to figure out what I was doing and now he can do it perfectly! I also was pushing my tongue up against my bottom lip to push it out and he's figured that out too! (Video below.) And I also had no idea that when I am being silly with him, I "bobble" my head back and forth... well, he picked up on that as well! I couldn't figure out why he was doing it until I noticed that I did it and then he did it right back! It's our little game now... :D
